With used cardboard, paper mache, lace, and a handful of sun-catching clear beads, Sydney, Australia-based crafter Natasha Rose shares how she made a paper mache mushroom hat.
She chose the bold and infamous Fly Agaric Amanita Muscaria mushroom, a poisonous red-capped toadstool with “numerous white warty spots.”
The curved shape of the mushroom cap hat can be figured out with some cardboard-forming trial and error, but Rose’s template can also be purchased on her website.
Additional supplies on her list include scissors, hot glue, painters’ tape, tempera paint, and white texture paint.
